***Semester tests are coming up - two weeks after we return from Christmas break. Remember the semester test is cumulative, meaning it will cover all chapters, all vocabulary, and all verbs we have learned since the beginning of the year. Please see Vocabulary and the Practice links to help you study! Fall semester 2008 Thank you for visiting my website! This site contains important dates in class, vocabulary and grammar, and links to practice games. Our semester is broken into six chapters, with tests or projects due about every 3 weeks. For important dates see the syllabus below. I will add things to this website throughout the semester, so please check it frequently to stay current. Syllabus: "Para Empezar" - In order to begin we will be learning simple greetings, numbers, dates, time and a few classroom objects. Test on September 10 and 11. "Que te gusta hacer?" - Chapter 1A discusses things students like to do outside of school. We will begin this chapter the second week of September and test on Sept. 24 and 25. "Como eres?" - Chapter 1B discusses personality characteristics and ways to describe ourselves. We will begin this chapter in October with final project due on Oct. 10 and 13. No test on this chapter. "En la escuela" - Chapter 2A discusses classes and school activities. This will be our second chapter in October; we will test November 3 and 4. (This date is new!) Parent Teacher conferences on Thursday, November 6 from 1-4pm, and 5:30-8pm. Parent/Teacher conferences on Friday, November 7 from 8:30am-12noon. "En la sala de clases" - Chapter 2B contains vocabulary for classroom objects and activities. Test dates are November 24 and 25. (These dates are new!) "Comidas y comiendo" - Chapter 3A is all about food and eating. Testing will take place on December 15 and 16. "Comidas y la salud" - Chapter 3B contains more food vocabulary and how different foods affect our health. We will finish this chapter with a project due on January 8 and 9. Semester testing on January 14-16; the day depends on what class period your student has Spanish. |
